Currently working towards her USDF Silver Medal and Bar, Jennifer has already earned her Bronze Medal and Bronze Bar. As a former eventer, her first horse, an arabian mare, consistently went clear in the stadium and cross country rounds but would lose due to less than good dressage scores. When she first discovered the feeling of unity that dressage can create, she was hooked and decided to focus all of her attention on it. In 2004, she began training with Sharon Myers at Chimney Hill Farm in Maryland, a 13 year student of Dr. Cesar Parra, Olympian, and soon became her working student. Under the training of Sharon, the pair began to excel in Third and Fourth level and were awarded the Regional Champions in the Arabian Horse Association in both levels. Lin was also ranked 5th in the nation that same year. Due to an injury, she was forced to retire "Lin" to the lower levels before being able to attend AHA Nationals.
in 2016, Jennifer purchased a 3 year old Oldenburg GOV gelding, Flynn and began to bring him along. Under her training and with the help of her current trainer, Nicole Harrington, they began to excel in Third and Fourth level. He is now a schoolmaster for a young rider. Their accomplishments are listed below.
Accomplishments 2021:
USDF All Breeds Third Level-Reserve Champion
USDF All Breeds Third Level Freestyle- 3rd
USDF Horse of the Year Third Level-8th
USDF Horse of the Year Third Level Freetstyle- 7th
Her newest mount is a Hanoverian mare out of Desperandos named Dali's Monarch. They are currently schooling and preparing for Prix St. George and hope to debut in 2025.

Testimonials

I recently purchased a horse that Jennifer had in training. The horse had been given a great start with a clear understanding of the correct basics. I’m looking forward to building upon this foundation which will make it easy and enjoyable to move this horse up the levels.

Jen guided a horse and rider with no dressage experience to champions of the whole series in six short months. Jen has proven that you don't have to have the biggest, most expensive horse at the show. No, you need to have a good coach--a coach who teaches you the basics, patience, and proper engagement with your horse without taking short cuts. Jen doesn't just produce champions though, she allows you and your horse to become a team."

I have worked with Jennifer Flory for many years and I can honestly say that I have never worked with a more passionate, encouraging, and knowledgeable instructor. Jennifer doesn't just tell you what to do while you are riding, she explains the mechanics behind every movement and why what she is asking will lead to upper level movements. In a horse world where everyone rushes the fundamentals and skips to faulty corrections, Jennifer first focuses on establishing a correct foundation.

I am fairly new to dressage; coming from many many many years in the hunter/jumper world; and Jen has greatly helped with implementing and improving the dressage basics of energy, rhythm, tempo, relaxation, and connectivity in my riding to become a better partner to my horse. Her theory of riding and training is to better understand the movement of the horse in order to reach that harmonious connection.

My horse was very out of shape and had been sitting for several months with no work, and unfortunately I needed to sell him. Jennifer took my horse into training for 60 days, and while being very conscientious of not over-taxing him, she got him back into shape, showed him, and therefore enabled me to sell him to a wonderful new owner. She made amazing progress with him, and my horse just blossomed under her training. She is skilled, sympathetic, and uses very correct dressage principles.
